IISER Pune, established in 2006, was one of the first IISERs (Institutes of Science, Education and Research) to be established in the country.
The IISER Pune campus is located in Pashan, Pune over 98 acres of land. The college offers a total of 4 courses under different specializations in the field of research and science.
In the NIRF 2024, IISER Pune was classified as #42 in the overall category. IISER PUNE offers several courses at UG, PG and doctoral level. However, IISER Pune’s main course is the BS-MS dual degree undergraduate program, offered for a duration of 5 years.
In the previous years, there were three channels of admission (Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) channel, Joint Entrance Examination (JEE-Advanced), and State and Central Boards (SCB) Channel). However, from this year (2024 onwards), candidates will be admitted only through the State and Central Boards Channel wherein they would need to write an IISER Aptitude Test (IAT).

IISER Pune Cutoff:
The cutoff marks in IAT for various categories are given below:
- 160-180 for General
- 120-140 for EWS and OBC-NCL
- 70-90 for SC
- 60-80 for ST
Admission to PhD and Integrated PhD programs at IISER Pune typically involves a rigorous selection process. Ensure that you meet the eligibility criteria specified by the respective IISER for the program you are interested in.
