Category Expected Cutoff Range (Marks) Notes
General/OBC 105 – 125 Higher cutoff required for IISER Kolkata and Pune (150+ marks); IISc requires 200+ marks.
EWS 85 – 105 Increased demand in this category, necessitates higher scores for admission.
OBC/NCL 85 – 105 Important to have the correct OBC/NCL certificate; incorrect form filling can affect category status.
SC 55 – 75 Lower cutoff, but students should aim for higher scores for better chances.
ST 35 – 45 Lower cutoff, but students should aim for higher scores for better chances.

The tentative total number of seats available for the 5-year BS-MS (Dual Degree) and 4-Year BS Degree Programs across all IISERs is 1933.

The allotment is based on the availability of seats in respective IISERs, your rank in the merit list, and your preferences.

  • What is the ‘Float’ option?

The float option allows a candidate to be allotted an IISER/program that is higher on their preference list (if any) than the one allotted in the current round, in subsequent rounds (if any). During counselling, the float option has been enabled for all candidates.

  • What is the ‘Freeze’ option?

If you are satisfied with the IISER/program allotted to you in any round and do not wish to float, you can freeze your offer upon the fee payment. The freeze option once exercised is final and cannot be changed under any circumstances.
