IISER Kolkata: Admission 2025, Courses, Fees, Cutoff, Placements

IISER Kolkata was created in 2006 and is one of the first Indian Institutes for Science Education and Research (IISERs) along with IISER Pune in the country, dedicated to promoting research and science education at the highest level.

Located in Mohanpur, western cane, the Kolkata campus covers more than 201 adds, providing state-of-the-art research facilities, modern classrooms, and residential amenities.

IISER Kolkata offers several programs at undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctorate levels, with a strong focus on the teaching of interdisciplinary sciences. Previously, IISER Kolkata had three admission channels Kvpy, Jee-Advanced, and SCB Channel. However, from 2024, admission is only through the SCB channel, requiring candidates to qualify for the IISER Fitness Test (IAT).

In the NIRF 2024 ranking, Iiser Kolkata was recognized among the main institutions of India for research and education, maintaining its reputation as a center of excellence in science. This guide provides an overview of Kolkata’s courses, admissions, and research opportunities.
