IAT 2024 Exam Pattern:

This is a computer-based exam, and question types are only MCQs. The subject-wise marking scheme will be:

Subject Total Questions Total marks
Mathematics 15 15*4=60
Chemistry 15 15*4=60
Physics 15 15*4=60
Biology 15 15*4=60
Grand total= 240

The exam will be 3 hours long. Each correct answer carries 4 marks, and -1 will be deducted for one incorrect answer. The question paper will be in English. You can attempt any one in biology and mathematics. However, we advise you to attempt all four sections in order to score high.

The difficulty level of IAT is near JEE Mains (a little more than that) while far below JEE Advanced and NEST. Also, the exam pattern is almost the same except that IAT has only MCQ questions and only 15 questions per subject. Check out this blog to learn more about how IAT differs from JEE and NEST.

Are both Math And Biology sections compulsory?

The common problem of PCB and PCM students is that both the Maths and Biology sections are in the IAT question paper. These sections are not optional. However, since both PCB and PCM students appear for the exam, if you skip one of these sections, your result should not be hampered much.

However, note that if you attempt both sections, your chances of getting selected are greatly enhanced. But how can a PCB student solve the maths section and vice-versa? SciAstra comes to your rescue. We have several courses for IAT preparation, and we specifically focus on PCB and PCM students to help them solve the sections that they have not studied in their +2.

IAT 2024 Exam Mode:

The mode of conduct of IAT 2024 will be online. It will be a computer-based test. You will get the information about your exam centre on your admit card. Exam centres are usually the centres nearest to your home.
